Snow Baby

So it started snowing in Seattle Thursday 12/18 and it snowed and snowed and snowed and is still snowing on Sunday the 21st. Thursday it was still fun so we went for a walk and took some great photos. Here are a few - more snow pics plus others from the last few months are up on Flickr. Oh yeah about that snow - we're at about 8ish inches now and they're predicting another 4 inches over night - UGH. Guess we'll have a white Xmas.

Santa Visit

While we were do in LA we took the opportunity to get Tasha's picture taken with good old Saint Nic. Fortunately she was happy for one of the photos. By the 3rd she was screaming.

First Halloween post 1: Pumpkin Patch

Halloween is a favorite in the House of Tasha so the celebrating starts early. This last weekend that meant a trip to the pumpkin patch. The weather was beautiful so we took advantage of the day and got some great photos. Tasha also got to interact with pumpkins (and woodchips) for the first time and loved it. We also came home with 100 lbs of pumpkins including 2 huge ones. Its all in prep for our pumpkin carving party later this month. Stay tuned for more Halloween pictures.

So many to choose from

Feed the Beast

So Mommy recently had a magazine drive at school and the mascot was a creature called the Beast. Also called Domo for all you otaku out there. The drive ends in a celebratory assembly and Tasha decided to go as the Beast. The kids went nuts with excitement and Tasha was more popular than watching teachers get pies in the face. She seemed to do well in the costume which bodes well for Halloween and the weeks before when there are many many costumes to wear.

SNAKES!!!! and tortises

This past weekend was Tasha's cousin Adam's 5th birthday. There was a big party with the whole family and lots of friends. The highlight was a visit from the Reptileman, an educator and entertainer who runs a local reptile zoo and makes appearances with all types of reptiles at parties, events, and schools. We got to see and touch alligators, snakes (including constrictors, a rattler, and a cobra) as well as a tortise. It was great fun and really amazing to get a chance to get so close to these cool animals. Best of all Tasha definitely recognized the animals and liked interacting. She touched a number of them but her favorite seemed to be the tortise. Not only did she get to ride it but she could touch it and it couldn't get away, unlike Bucco.

6 months already

Yet another milestone - Tasha first half birthday. Its hard to believe she's already 6 months old. She now weighes 16 pounds (5o percentile) and is 26 inches long (75 percentile). She's started to wave and clap her hands. Her first teeth are almost here - according to the doctor its any day now. We also suspect she'll be crawling soon since she's constantly up on her hands and knees rocking back and forth. She's even been known to go backwards on occasion - apparently that's a very good sign. She remains super cute. And since some proof is require here are amazingly, super, unbelieveable cute photos.

WOW! THAT'S ONE CUTE BABY!

Camping

D'oh we have our first continuity error - camping happened before Tasha hit her 5 month milestone.

So in mid-August we took a camping trip with most of the Furtado clan to the Olympic pennisula. The four families got two campsites side by side in the Dungeness Spit campground. We had a wonderful time hiking, visiting the Spit, and going to Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Forest.

Poppa visits

Poppa visited Tasha for a long week in the middle of September. We had a wonderful visit and Poppa and Tasha got to spend some quality time together. The trip was short but wonderful and hopefully Poppa will visit again very soon.

Noni visits

Noni visited Tasha for a long week over the labor day holiday. We had a ton a fun and had many adventures. The highlight was probably Tasha's first trip to the zoo. She didn't really "get" the animals - only bucco really seems to register although the elephants might have too. She did really enjoy watching all the little kids - she seems facinated by toddlers. Tasha clearly loves her Noni and really enjoyed the time they got to spend together - even if it was just chatting.

5 months all ready

Wow, Tasha just keeps getting bigger and somehow more cute. Do you need proof beyond her Dad's obviously unbiased statements? Well then here are pictures of CBE (Cutest Baby Ever) on her 5th month birthday.

Further proof of cuteness

My, my time flys

So we're super behind on blogging now. So what to do? How about recreate what the last 6 weeks would have been like if we had been on top of it. So without further ado a series of post about past event written as if they jsut happened :)

Mommy's Birthday

This weekend we celebrated Lorna's birthday with a big backyard BBQ. Tons of foods, drinks, and babies. Can you believe how cute they all are? It was pretty warm but actually cooler than the days before - of course it was only 85. You can tell it was too warm for everyone when we all stayed out in the light shower that hit halfway through the party. It was a great break from the heat.

Tasha wants to thank everyone who came to the party.

Where did you get that outfit?

Blue Angels

Seafair is Seattle's annual big event and it culminates on the first weekend in August with the hydroplane races and an airshow by the Blue Angels. Lucky for us Lorna's sister Theresa has a house with spectacular views of the air show. We started with a big potluck meal and then the show began. Tasha slept through about half - until the second of five low fly-bys over the house. Daddy covered her ears while Mommy got some amazing photos. Finally Tasha took some time to hang out with the other little cousins. You can see more on our Flickr site - link just to the right.

First Meal

Big day on Friday - Tasha's first non-Mom meal. We mixed her up some rice cereal and attempted to feed her. She didn't seem to like it much. We're pretty sure she didn't actually eat much. But we were able get some cute photos.

4 month pic

Oops should have added a pic. Here is her official 4 month photo

4 Months already

WOW! Can you believe its been four months since little T was born. Its amazing that in so little time she has had such a huge impact. She's growing by leaps and bounds and everyday brings a new surprise. She's just about to roll over on her tummy and solid foods are just around the corner.
